Functions as a proficient member of the surgical team under the supervision and direction of the professional nurses and in accordance with approved policies, procedures and schedules.

Responsible for assisting the surgeon during surgical procedures through, planning, organizing, and execution of supplies and instrumentation needed.

Education: Graduate of an approved school of surgical technology or displays competency within the scrub technician role after on the job training.

Experience: Demonstrates ability to work in demanding and stressful situations. Demonstrates knowledge of procedures, physical anatomy, surgical instrumentation, surgical equipment, and patient safety factors as they relate to the scrub role. Demonstrates knowledge of surgical conscience at all times within the surgical setting. Displays a positive attitude toward learning and is self motivated in continuing education.

Licenses/Certification: Certified Surgical Technician. Maintenance of current CPR or BLS.

Compensation: $24.95 - $32.43/hr, depending on experience.
